The course focuses on the study of women’s clothing, expanding on every aspect of both the creative and technical side, disproving the assumption that the difficulties encountered when designing women’s fashion are similar to those encountered when designing menswear or children’s wear. The course covers women’s clothing as well as lingerie. If you choose this course you will learn to design prêt-à-porter, fast fashion and haute couture collections. You will also learn to develop your ability to find new trends through careful research. You will explore all the possible obstacles that arise when designing, making patterns and sewing garments (for dresses, skirts, trousers, jackets, coats, corsets, evening wear, lingerie and swim wear etc.). You will also learn about the different market sectors; production line sewing though to made-to-measure garments.
